The 20th Congress of the Committee for Treatment in Multiple Sclerosis was held in Vienna on October 6-9, 2004. Unfortunately, one could hear the information that had already been discussed during the previous meetings. Probably, the reason is that large pharmaceutical corporations such as Schering, Teva and Serono are the main sponsors of such congresses. They want the reporters to speak only about their production. Other reports are of no practical value.
But still, the organizers dont let all the best be introduced at the congress at all. As a result, those lose, for the sake of whom all these events are seemed to be held- the sick.
It feels like, that some people just do not want any obvious progress in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis to be achieved, since this problem wouldn't be a problem any more and, consequently, there would be no necessity of such rather profitable meetings.

29-30 June 2004 the XI All-Russian Apitherapy Congress was held at the basis of the Scientific Research Beekeeping Institute (Ribnoe) headed by Academy of Agricultural Sciences Corresponding Member N.I. Krivtsov and supported by Medical University headed by professor V.G. Makarova (Ryasan). Nowadays the Scientific Research Beekeeping Institute and the Medical University are perhaps two main centers of scientific beekeeping and apitherapy.
The Scientific Research Institute of Clinical Apitherapy was opened in Chelyabinsk, so in future the conferences may be held at its base. Moreover in Chelyabinsk there is only one apitherapy hospital with a great practical base. Chelyabinsk is situated at the border of Europe and Asia, so it will be very convenient for apitherapists from Ural, Siberia and Far East to arrive here. Not far from Chelyabinsk there are main centers for production of biologically active substances on basis of beehive products in Perm and Ufa (the representatives of which were unfortunately absent). The conference was held at a rather high level. Unlike previous years the reports were made very professionally, the participants discussed different managerial problems and ways of their solution.
For the first time professor I.V. Krivopalov-Moscvin presented the new work of the Clinical Apitherapy Institute about sparing methods of bee venom introduction and also about opportunities of painlessness regulation while stinging. This programme is of great importance because one of the reasons preventing people from passing apitherapy courses is the fear of pain. Also this programme provides for an opportunity of apitherapy employment in paediatrics.
The member of International Apitherapy Commission "APIMONDIA" professor I.V. Krivopalov-Moscvin spoke about the new government document which allows to licence apitherapy officially. I.V. Krivopalov-Moscvin also proposed to organize in 2006 an International Conference and International Apitherapeutical Training Courses under the aegis of "APIMONDIA".
Now they conduct negotiations about it with the president of International Apitherapy Commission Mr. T. Cherbuliez (USA) and vice-president Mr. R. Domerego (Belgium). For the present moment they consider three most suitable places for International Conference and International Apitherapeutical Training Courses:
Moscow
Ryasan and Ribnoe
Chelyabinsk

The Conference on modern problems of biological psychiatry and narcology was carried in Tomsk. It was organized by the Scientific Research Institute of Psychical Health of the Tomsk scientific centre of Russian Medical Academy (headmaster of the institute - academician Semke V.J.)

Many famous specialists in the field of psychiatry, narcology, immunology and morthology took part in the conference (professor Y.A. Alexandrovskij, professor D.D. Orlovskaja, professor G.I. Koljaskina, professor S.N.Mosolov, professor B.S Polozhij, etc.).
Main attention was paid to the problems of clinical immunology in psychiatry and narcology.Perhaps it was not occasional, because the vice-president of the organizing committee, professor Vetlugina T.P. is one of the few persons in our country, who try to study the immune processes of psychopathology.

Perhaps, for the first time much attention was paid to the child' and youth' psychiatry. It caused the interest to a unique Chelyabinsk school, which was represented by colaborators of the faculty of child', youth' psychiatry, medical psychology and narcology, lead by a famous (in our country and abroad) specialist, MD, professor Natalja Erofeevna Butorina.

The international medical centre "API" with its leader MD Igor Vladimirovich Krivopalov-Moscvin represented the "APITOX" programme in the treatment of narcomania. Besides the programme was given the point of view on drug addiction as a problem, a little different from the traditional one. In particular, according to MCTAM "API" data, the quantity of the drug addicted persons in our country decreased (and not increased). There are some reasons for that, includicng the usage of beer, which became very popular and attractive now. The REASONS of low treatment effectiveness were shown, as well as those of low popularity of modern narcology among the patients and population.
The Tomsk school of psychiatry and narcology has always occupied high positions in Russia. The last conference not only proved that but even showed some advantages of it before the main cities of SIBIRIA, URALS and FAR EAST.

There was only one Russian representative, who spoke about narcological problems; that was professor Igor Krivopalov-Moscvin. He represented his main works ("The possibility of the normalization of the alcohol usage with the help of apitoxins" and "The APITOX programme in the treatment of narcomania"). Nowadays the existing methods are very much alike, and the usage of toxinotherapy signed the new direction in narcology, and arose great interest.

Besides that, the very possibility of the absence of total refuse in alcohol addiction turned out to be very brave and progressive. It rivals against the existing old practical narcology.

Russia was represented by the member of the "Apimondia" commission, the general director of the medical center "API", MD, professor Igor Krivopalov-Moscvin.

He represented four themes:
1. Clinical apitherapy.
2. Apitherapy in the treatment of multiple sclerosis.
3. The possibility of the normalization of the alcohol usage.
4. The APITOX programme in the treatment of narcomania.

Clinical Apitherapy was for the first time represented as a new medical division, which supplemented different medical directions and could widen its possibilities.

The new reception of the multiple sclerosis appearing was received with special interest, because it was the new opinion of the existing problem.
The works about the usage of apitherapy in the treatment of narcological problems were widely spoken of, what was impossible in the previous times.
